Book Project Manager Overview

Although this is the technical description, we must always remember that we need to work with HIM in all we do, because apart from Him we can do nothing.💞  It is so very important for us to remember that when we work on any part of the publishing team, there will be A LOT of opposition, and we need to SSG (Simply Seek God) with every little part of what we do.

A book project manager oversees the entire process of a book from where the writing starts by the author to the final release in eBook, audiobook, and paperback. They ensure the project stays on schedule and meets quality standards while coordinating with team members and supporting the author.

Main Jobs of the Book Project Manager

1. Create Encouraging Bookstore Page and Intro Pages

For NEW ENGLISH books:

  • Create a new book page on EncouragingBookstore.com (EB) when the author writes a new book.

  • Find a similar book on EB and make a copy of that page.

  • Replace the book cover and update all book information on the new page.

  • Add the new cover to the EB homepage under New Books Coming Soon.

  • Create an INTRO page for the Course Main Page:

    • Include the cover picture along with the information from the front and back pages.

    • Add the Publishing Team to this page.

    • Example: INTRO pages for “He Healed Me”.

For NEW LANGUAGE (LNG) books:

  • Request a new LNG cover:

  • Create the book page in EncouragingBookstore.com (EB):

    • Make a copy of the English (ENG) book page in EB .

    • Add the new LNG cover.

    • Translate the book information on the page using ChatGPT.

  • Build a bridge between the ENG and LNG pages in EB:

    • On the ENG page, add the round LNG flag with a link to the new LNG page.

    • Add a small LNG cover picture at the bottom of the ENG page, linked to the LNG page.

    • On the LNG page, add a small ENG cover picture and a round US flag picture, linked back to the ENG page.

    • Example: He Healed Me “How GOD Can be Trusted to HEAL Your ♥ Heart”

  • Create course pages on the LNG website:

    • Set up the MAIN and INTRO pages, following the structure of the ENG pages.

    • Bridge the MAIN LNG page to the MAIN ENG page and vice versa.
    • Example: AFR Intro Pages for "He Healed Me"

2. Posting each book to get a Team for each book:

S3 Book Project Manager

Our Senior Book Project Manager is required to post an OP for the Publishing Team for each Book. Include the front cover, plus indicate each team member needed for that project. The senior selects her assistant within the same post.

Erin's books are divided on her page, showing Stage 1-6. The BPM must ensure each Team member is listed on the book's Intro page. She must follow up to ensure each team member, senior and assistant, comments, so everyone is there for the project.

If you have a question for the Book Project Manager, go to the page and comment there.

3. Helping the Team Work Together:
Proofreaders, the designers for the back cover, formatters, and marketers. Make sure everyone is showing up. If not, contact them and if necessary, find a replacement.

4. Helping the Author:
Be the main person to help and support the author step by step.

5. Checking the Quality:
Make sure everything is done well and meets the publishing standards.

6. Solving Problems Early:
Look for problems before they happen. Find solutions to keep things on track and adjust the protocol to prevent the same issue.

7. Keeping Everyone Informed:
Update the team often. Let them know what is happening or if there are any issues.

8. Continue helping after the Book is done:
Support the author after the book is published. Help with marketing or any questions they have.

Summary:
The book project manager is the conductor of the publishing process for each book, ensuring all parts work in harmony to deliver a successful publication. 💓

Senior Book Project Managers are required to select an RMIOU Student 🎓 for each Book Project, so be sure to go to discover more about our Project Managers, and comment to be part of a Book Project.

  1. Thank you for sharing the information I needed to join the project management team. I’m happy and excited to be a part of it.

    1. To follow up regarding my earlier email, I’d like you to step into the Senior position, allow Yvonne to step back to ensure you’re comfortable, then you can replace her with an Assistant you train.

It was after I wrote https://homegrownministries.com/eyc/c6/ that Yvonne asked me about “Rotating jobs are a hornet’s nest of trouble that produces thorns—fighting that ‘it’s not their turn,” and why you should avoid this popular parenting method. Again, “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit; but the bad tree bears bad fruit” (Matthew 7:15-17).

So this position is permanent. I’m not sure about assistants. You may test different assistants and have them for different books.
